The Lord of the Rings:
A Symphonic Concert
November 2, 2024
7:00 PM (pre-concert lecture for VIPs at 6:00pm)
Riviera United Methodist Church
375 Palos Verdes Blvd, Redondo Beach, CA 90277
South Bay Wind Ensemble will perform a concert inspired by Tolkien's Middle-earth. Join us on a journey through the world of Harry Potter and Hogwarts, to the wild lands of Conan the Barbarian and the Hyborian Age!
The highlight of the concert is the sweeping Symphony No. 1 "The Lord of the Rings" by Johan de Meij. Presented in five movements, each movement of the symphony explores a specific character or place from Middle-earth.
The ensemble will be joined by renowned classical music DJ, Rich Capparela, to provide narration for each movement of de Meij's symphony.
VIP tickets still available!

Join The South Bay Wind Ensemble!
The South Bay Music Association is pleased to announce the creation of the South Bay Wind Ensemble, a new opportunity for semi-professional
and dedicated amateur musicians to perform challenging and rewarding music.
Like a true wind ensemble, all sections will be limited to one player per part where appropriate.
Playing in South Bay Wind Ensemble is a volunteer position, and is unpaid.
SBWE will operate with limited rehearsals, with only four or five leading up to each concert.
SWBE will limit concerts to no more than four per year.
Rehearsals are expected to take place at North Torrance High School on 182nd St., or the surrounding community
