Classes are on Mondays from Jan. 28 through May 20

El Segundo High School Band Room

There will be no class on days off from school: February 11, 18, April 1.

Jan 28 will be the first day of the new session--Ensemble Festival Prep.

March 30 Solo/Ensemble Festival Bishop Montgomery, Torrance

May 20, 2019 is the last day of class.


New this year is the Solo/ensemble class for students in 4th-8th grade who have had at least 1 year of instruction on their instrument.

Jan 28 will be the first day of the new semester for our after school programs and the new Small ensemble rehearsal class.

In this class small groups of students will work on independent parts that come together and then perform at festivals and perhaps other performances in town.

Small ensembles are a great way to excellerate the musical maturity of young players.

This class is open to any wind band player in 4th -8th grade. We have parts for all wind instruments!

Classes will be taught by professionals on their instrument and instruction will be given on ensemble performance

Fees for Fall semester: $225

*Includes all applicable sales taxes

PERCUSSION CLASS

Fee is $150

Jan 28 will be the first class.

This percussion class is open to any middle school student interested in concert and marching percussion. Instructors are Kevin Sticht and alumni Jill McClemmens.

Instructors

Kevin Sticht - Percussion

Kevin Sticht recently graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelors of Music in Percussion Performance. He spent his time there studying with Todd Miller and has worked with renowned conductors such as Dr. Mitchell Fennell and Dr. Anthony Mazzaferro. Kevin has had an extensive marching career starting in junior high school and totaling to 20 seasons. After he graduated high school, he spent 3 summers with Mandarins Drum & Bugle Corps (2011-2013) and the next 2 summers with 2 summers with Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps (2014-2015), making finals both years. Kevin has also marched in the WGI circuit for the past 5 years. His first year with POW Percussion in 2012 when they were bumped from Open to World Class and the next four years with Pulse Percussion. During this time, he won 2 World Champion titles and was section leader for the cymbal line in 2015 and 2016.
