SBMA offers scholarships to high school and college age students who actively participate within our umbrella of programs. This year the winners are Irene A. Lee, $1,000, and Elliott Bijlsma, $750, out of 14 applicants.
These remarkable students received their checks from SBMA president Dave Gold at the El Segundo High School Scholarship Assembly.
SBMA Continuing Musician Scholarship
Each year SBMA awards one to three El Segundo High School graduating seniors, or college age alumni, scholarships of $500-$2000 during the High School's annual scholarship awards ceremony in June.
This investment in these individuals helps them to continue their involvement in instrumental music as they move forward into college and their careers.
Perry DeNisi Scholarship
This scholarship provides private lessons to student musicians who show passion, determination, commitment and work ethic as members in El Segundo music programs, with a priority on those involved with the El Segundo Concert Band.
Up to four students per year can be awarded the scholarship.
